Art & Art History Booklet
Created at UNC Charlotte
As a team of ten, we created a promotional booklet for UNC Charlotte’s college of Art + Art History. Our idea was to showcase students, their work, and the creative ideas that fuel their work. We wanted the book to feel less like a collegiate informational, and more like an artistic invite. In order to achieve that, we decided to use more experimental typography, a more casual voice in the copy, and dynamic layouts. In order to emphasize the location of our school, we included vellum inserts that showcase key locations in charlotte that are related to the arts such as: the Bechtler Museum, Goodyear Arts, various advertising agencies, art-related programs and events.
the outcome
Classic Graphics printed 2,000 copies of our book,
which will be distributed at various college fair events.

Love Your Neighbor
BFA Thesis Project @ UNC Charlotte
For our BFA senior thesis project, we were instructed to choose a community that we do not belong to, and use design to create a solution for a problem. I decided to advocate for the muslim community. I did that by creating a neutral space for non-muslims to learn more about the muslim community. I made the designs clean and inviting so that viewers would feel welcomed to educate themselves. The space in the gallery was also decorated accordingly to feel very home-like and inviting.
I created four applications for the gallery space. Two posters that described the situation of Muslims in America. One booklet that describes the fundamental beliefs of Islam. Two sticker designs with the phrases “Allahu Akbar” and “Assalamu Alykum”, along with their translations. And lastly, postcards with quotes from actual Muslims about their experience.
Chicago Public Library
The Course: How to Become an Art Director with Joel Arzu
In early 2022, I decided to take an Art Direction course to sharpen my skills and expand my ability to concept and create great work. One of the projects was to rebrand the Chicago Public Library. I chose to create a logo that used a serif font to honor the traditional and innate respect that comes with a library, but that also felt whimsicle and other-wordly. Books transport us to new places within our minds, allowing us to escape the reality that we are currently in. So I decided to really lean into that concept, not just with the logo but also with the print collateral.
One of my ideas was to have CPL collaborate with Roooms, a free metaverse platform. Different rooms could be created for different books, where fans could continue their affinity for the book within the metaverse along with others who loved the book just as much as they did.
The campaign for CPL, encouraging people to immerse themselves in a new world, would be supported by beautiful images inspired by settings within books across different genres. The photos would be captivating and cinematic - urging the viewer to pick up the book to experience that particular world.
